Scrap Metal is a stackable item in Processed Materials. A stack holds up to 3, and each weighs 300 g.

Properties

Fabricate it from 2 Refined Ferrite (Fabrication 1) — Rusk Recovery. Needs the Fabrication Station, which opens once you have accepted Return the Favor.
Fabricate it from 1 Galvanic Stock (Fabrication 5) — Rusk Recovery. Needs the Fabrication Station, which opens once you have accepted Return the Favor.
Buy from Wade Rusk — Rusk Recovery — for 4 Credits each, up to 12 a day per character. The shop opens once you have accepted 10,000 Hours.
Tinkering — dismantle a finished item at the Fabrication Station (Rusk Recovery). Tinkering unlocks once you have completed Return the Favor. It consumes the dismantled item and gives back only Scrap Metal, never the ingredients. You need room for the Scrap unless Auto-discard Scrap is on, in which case it is thrown away; a Mining Cutter cannot be dismantled if it is your last usable one.
