Cut Your Teeth

Equip your Salvage Cutter, make five Mining attempts, and show Tansy Rusk a full stack of Ferrite Shale.

Teaches the Inventory-to-Equip step and the Mining loop.

Where it begins

Nothing to accept: it starts by itself the moment you claim your Cutter in Walk It Off. You hand it in to Tansy Rusk at The Jag.

What you need

Be at The Jag.
Equip the Salvage Cutter from your Inventory.
Make 5 Mining attempts. The objective counts them as you go.
Carry a full stack of Ferrite Shale. Shale you scavenged counts exactly like shale you mined.

Walkthrough

Equip your Salvage Cutter, then mine at The Jag until your five attempts are in and you are carrying a full stack of Ferrite Shale.
Talk to Tansy and choose Show Shale.

What you get

100 Mining XP when you turn the Mission in.
Nothing is taken: Tansy only looks at the shale, and you keep it.

Good to know

The equipped Cutter and the shale are checked live. If you take the Cutter off or drop shale before you turn the Mission in, it goes back to asking for them.

What happens next

Finishing it starts Waste Not automatically.
